Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather appeared to criticize President Donald Trump in a Thursday evening tweet, one day after Trump admitted to making up information as he spoke with a foreign head of state.
During a fundraiser speech Wednesday night, Trump reportedly said he told Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau the United States had a trade deficit with Canada without knowing whether or not that claim was true.
On Thursday, Rather quoted 18th century German philosopher Immanuel Kant in a tweet:
Rather did not mention Trump by name, but it appeared his post was aimed at the president.
Rather is a vocal and frequent Trump critic, posting his thoughts on Twitter and airing them during news interviews. Shortly before Trump took office last year, Rather called Trump "cunning."
