President Donald Trump said Wednesday he has "no second thoughts" about ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, ABC News reported.
White House reporter Cecilia Vega asked Trump if he had "any second thoughts about DACA based on your tweet?"
Trump had tweeted Tuesday night about the program, and implied he would find a way of legalizing it if Congress does not.
Trump responded to Vega he had "no second thoughts."
When asked if he was "confident that Congress can do something for DACA recipients," the president replied, "I hope they do. I certainly hope they do."
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters Tuesday: "We'd like to have confidence that Congress will actually do their job. We're going to ask that they do that and that they allow us to work with them and be part of that process."
