Donald Trump supporters took over a rally Monday in Pennsylvania with shouts of "CNN sucks" after Trump continued to criticize the news media, per Mediaite.
"See the dishonest people back there – the media – the totally dishonest (people)," Trump said. "They are so dishonest. You can't even read articles in certain papers anymore."
Trump, the Republican nominee, has singled out reporters and news outlets during his presidential campaign. At a rally last Wednesday, after saying the media was dishonest in its reporting, he pointed to NBC reporter Katy Tur. Tur was also called out at a previous rally and said she had to be escorted to her car by the Secret Service following Trump's comments she was a third-rate reporter, as she wrote on MarieClaire.com.
The New York Times, in particular, "is a total lie," Trump told supporters Monday. "It is so false – nothing to do with me – I'm just telling you. Such lies, such fabrication. Now, the Times is going out of business pretty soon, that's good news."
The media has not been nice to Trump, at least according to a study published on Politico. The website reported Oct. 25 news coverage of Trump on three broadcast nightly newscasts over the past 12 weeks had been "hostile." The study was conducted by Media Research Center.
