A photo of Donald Trump and Melania Trump visiting with a survivor of the mass shooting in Florida is being used by the president’s reelection campaign to request money from donors, CNN reports.

"The nation has turned its attention to the senseless school shooting in Parkland, Florida," an email from the campaign reads.

"Trump is taking steps toward banning gun bump stocks and strengthening background checks for gun purchasers," it says. "The President has made his intent very clear: 'making our schools and our children safer will be our top priority.'"

The photo, which the president shared on Instagram last week, contains a photo of 17-year-old Madeleine Wilford in a hospital bed surrounded by family, Trump and the first lady. It was taken two days after 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, killing 17 and injuring at least 17.
