A potential challenger to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has reportedly racked up close to 200 traffic tickets.
Three vehicles registered to the home of Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer have been ticketed nearly 192 times for speed-camera, red-light-camera and parking violations since 2013, according to records obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times.
The newspaper says Gainer’s family has shelled out more than $16,500 in fines over the past five years for the infractions imposed by the city of Chicago.
Gainer declined to discuss the matter, telling the Sun-Timesm "These are family cars and all tickets have been paid."
Emanuel’s car has been cited for eight violations resulting in fines in the past five years: six parking tickets, one ticket for a red-light camera violation and one for a speed-camera violation, The Sun-Times said.
