Donald Trump needs to make a good showing in Wednesday's third and final presidential debate with Hillary Clinton, but won't be able to win with that alone, says conservative pundit Charles Krauthammer.
"He needs an act of God or an act of Putin," Krauthammer said Monday on Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor."
An act of God, he said, would be some kind of medical problem Clinton, who has been rumored by many on the right to be in poor health, he said. A medical issue could help cement that idea.
"An act of Putin would be something in WikiLeaks that links her directly to some kind of quid pro quo," Krauthammer continued.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's government has been accused of hacking Democrats' emails and giving them to Wikileaks to publish online. Putin and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange deny Russia was behind the hacking.
A release by the FBI earlier Monday indicated Clinton's undersecretary of state Patrick Kennedy offered the FBI more agents in exchange for declassifying an email marked "secret" that was sent on Clinton's private server. But that did not involve her directly, Krauthammer noted.
"If there is something of a quid pro quo right in there, involving her directly … that could swing it to the point where Trump with a good close could pull it out," he said.
