Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman told MSNBC on Tuesday everyone on President Donald Trump's campaign team knew Michael Cohen was going to use hush money payment from campaign finances to pay off a woman who claims to have had an affair with Trump before he ran for office.
"We all knew that this was going to be used as a hush money payment from campaign finances," Manigault Newman told "Hardball" host Chris Matthews in reference to a $130,000 payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels.
"You knew at the time?" Matthews responded.
"Oh, we knew," she said.
Cohen on Tuesday pleaded guilty to campaign-finance violations and other charges, saying he and Trump arranged the payment of hush money to Daniels and a former Playboy model to influence the election.
Under a plea bargain reached with federal prosecutors, Cohen, 51, could get about four to five years in prison at sentencing Dec. 12. Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts in all, including tax evasion and making a false statement to a financial institution.
Manigault Newman also shared an iPhone video of Cohen boarding the Trump campaign plane in September of 2016 to prove he was a part of the campaign contrary to claims by Trump.
Manigault Newman also said Tuesday was "the beginning of the end for Donald Trump . . . because he knows that the person who knows everything about him, about his relationship with these women – and others people may not know about – will come to light."
