Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg raised $19.1 million for his campaign during the last three months, Politico is reporting.
Despite the strong fundraising effort, Buttigieg fell short of the $24.8 million he raised in the previous quarter. However, his current haul is still expected to be among the highest Democratic totals for this quarter, Politico noted.
Buttigieg’s campaign said it had 580,000 contributors for the third quarter. The average contribution was $32.
“Pete continues to stand out as having the vision and leadership voters know we need to tackle the urgent problems facing our country,” said Buttigieg campaign manager Mike Schmuhl. “It also positions us solidly as one of the top three fundraisers in this race. “We will have the resources to go the full distance, and to win, the 2020 nominating contests.”
