Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., lashed out at Democrats and the media for siding with Iran — not the U.S. — in the killing of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
His comments came Friday during an interview on "Fox & Friends." Mast, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, is a double amputee.
He had strong words for the Democrats and the media.
"Whatever the president does, he's going to be wrong in doing," he said. "If he exercises diplomacy to speak to Kim Jong Un or to speak to Vladimir Putin, that's wrong. If he withdraws our troops out of harm's way on the border of Turkey and alongside of the Kurds, then he's wrong."
Regarding the killing of Soleimani, he noted that critics said President Donald Trump was wrong going after "this murderer of our service members."
"Whatever [Trump] does, the other side is going to say he was incorrect for doing that for whatever the made up reason they're going to come up with," Mast said.
As for Soleimani's death, Mast added: "We need to be comfortable with the fact that we are justified to remove that terrorist from the battlefield."
