Billionaire GOP donor Sheldon Adelson late Monday made it clear who he's going to battle with in next year's midterms, and it's not Steve Bannon, Politico reports.

"The Adelsons will not be supporting Steve Bannon's efforts," Andy Abboud, an Adelson spokesman, was quoted by Politico. "They are supporting Mitch McConnell 100 percent. For anyone to infer anything otherwise is wrong."

Bannon has declared all-out war on Senate Majority Leader McConnell and establishment Republicans he believes are stunting the platform of President Donald Trump.

Bannon and Adelson did meet last month in Washington, Politico reports, but the Las Vegas casino giant made it clear whose side he's on.

Bannon's camp told Politico they never expected to reel in Adelson.

But that now makes two billionaires who have publicly distanced themselves from the former White House chief strategist.

Hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer earlier this month cited Bannon in a letter announcing his resignation from Renaissance Technologies; Mercer was growing uncomfortable with the negative attention stemming from being too closely aligned with the nationalist platform of Bannon, The Wall Street Journal reported.

"The press has … intimated that my politics marches in lockstep with Steve Bannon's," Mercer said in the letter. "I have great respect for Mr. Bannon, and from time to time I do discuss politics with him. However, I make my own decisions with respect to whom I support politically. Those decisions do not always align with Mr. Bannon's."

Mercer also sold his stake in Breitbart, the WSJ reported.
