Billionaire businessman Sheldon Adelson met with President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday and discussed how he could help the victims of the massacre in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on Tuesday.

Adelson, who owns the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, backed Trump during the campaign, including giving a $25 million gift to an anti-Hillary Clinton group before the election, according to the Washington Examiner.

The White House meeting had been arranged ahead of time and was supposed to concentrate on policy and for Adelson to meet with new chief of staff, John Kelly. However, in light of the massacre, the discussion also included the mass shooting, according to Andy Abboud, senior vice president of government relations for the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and the Las Vegas Sands Corp, the Review-Journal reported.

Adelson, who has an estimated worth of $35 billion, owns The Las Vegas Review-Journal, which gave Trump his first major newspaper endorsement, according to The Hill.

Also attending the meeting was Adelson's wife Miriam and White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, who is in charge of trying to broker a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Adelson has reportedly been disappointed that Trump has not kept his campaign pledge to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.
