A new poll confirms what many have speculated in recent days — that former President Bill Clinton is helping Democratic candidates with his campaign appearances more than President Barack Obama. A Gallup poll of registered Democratic voters showed that a visit by Clinton would make 53 percent of them more likely to vote for their party’s candidate, compared to 48 percent who said a visit by Obama would make them more likely to vote for the candidate,
The Hill reports.

Meanwhile, 6 percent of Democrats said a visit by Obama would make them less likely to vote for their party’s candidate, compared to 5 percent who said a visit by Clinton would have the same impact.
Among independents, 21 percent said a visit by Clinton would make them more likely to vote for the Democrat, while only 12 percent said a visit by Obama would have the same impact.
