Voters may be souring on presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden as the sexual assault allegation against him gets more media notice, but a new Morning Consult Poll shows he's still by far the most popular among voters who dislike both major party candidates.
According to the poll, conducted May 4-10 among 27,754 registered voters, 46% of those who say they dislike both Biden and President Donald Trump say they would vote for Biden if the election were held today. Only 14% said they would vote for Trump.
The share of women who have an unfavorable view of Biden has increased, but he still has an 8-point advantage over Trump.
The poll shows an overall dip in Biden's popularity with women as stories about Tara Reade's allegations of sexual assault have increased. Reade was serving as a staffer in Biden's Senate office when she said the incident took place in 1993. Biden denies the allegations.
