In an effort to thwart Nevada from going "red," former Vice President Joe Biden will visit the state Friday during a Western swing, Politico reports.

Despite boasting an average lead of 7 points in the state, according to recent polls, Biden still plans to visit the state.

“Nevada is always a battleground,” a Biden adviser told reporters this week. “We take nothing for granted. That's why the vice president is going there.”

Politico reports that many Latinos have warned the Biden campaign that they can’t count the state as a sure win.

Biden is spending less in TV advertisements in Nevada than Trump. According to media tracker Advertising Analytics, Trump is spending $3.2 million, while Biden is allocating $2.3 million to reach voters. But Biden is also spending $200,000 on Spanish-language in Nevada, while Trump isn’t.

Trump is trying to flip the state that he lost by just 2.4 points in 2016. He visited Nevada in September and Vice President Mike Pence held a rally there on Thursday. Republicans are trying to win over support from Mormon voters, according to Politico.

Last month, the Cook Political Report moved Nevada from “likely Democrat” to “lean Democrat.” But Politico reports that Trump hasn’t crossed the 30% threshold with Latino voters that is necessary to win the state.

In an effort to boost Biden, outside groups are spending money on ad buys, too. Politico reports that Somos PAC launched $1 million in TV and radio Spanish-language buys aimed at reintroducing Biden to Latinos, covering his family history, and time as vice president.

“The thing about Nevada is that we just haven't seen as much focus or interest in the state as we saw in 2016,” Somos PAC president Melissa Morales told Politico.

Chuck Rocha, former adviser to Bernie Sanders, is working to reach the younger Latino voters through his Nuestro PAC. An ad from his group features Latinos who voted for Sanders in the primary and are now behind Biden, because of his stance on climate change and student debt proposal.

The Culinary Union’s secretary treasurer Geocanda Arguello-Kline told Politico that 200 of her members are canvassing neighborhoods to increase voter turnout.
