Former Vice President Joe Biden has “the polling and momentum” following his primary wins on Tuesday night, according to Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., one of Sen. Bernie Sanders’s, I-Vt., presidential campaign co-chairs.

“There’s no doubt that the polling and momentum right now is with Vice President Biden,” Khanna told CNN’s “New Day” Wednesday morning. “And Sen. Sanders acknowledges that.”

Biden won the Democratic primaries in Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi and Idaho on Tuesday. Sanders won North Dakota, while Washington remains too close to call as of Wednesday morning. The former vice president currently leads in delegates with 823 to Sanders’ 663 but 1,991 delegates are needed to secure the nomination.

Khanna added that “the point now is to move forward for the issues that Senator Sanders has been fighting for,” and said the senator is “very committed to making his case in the debate Sunday” in Phoenix, Arizona.

“I think he’s earned his right to make his case at the debate,” the congressman said.

“There are a lot of things he is passionate about in his vision for America, and he feels he owes it to the millions of working-class people who have supported him to continue to raise those issues and share his vision,” Khanna continued.
