Ben Rhodes Slams Trump for 'Lie' About Nuclear Arsenal

Former Obama foreign policy adviser Ben Rhodes criticized in a tweet on Wednesday what he called President Donald Trump's "lie" about the U.S. nuclear arsenal during the crisis with North Korea.

His remark was in response to a tweet from Trump earlier Wednesday regarding the escalating tension with Pyongyang.

My first order as President was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal. It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before....

According to The Hill, Trump was apparently referring to the Nuclear Posture Review, a legislatively mandated examination of American nuclear capabilities and strategy.

Trump issued an executive order on Jan. 27 to start the review, which is still ongoing and is expected to take several more months to complete.

Rhodes later tweeted more criticism of the handling of the standoff after Trump's deputy assistant Sebastian Gorka compared the situation to the Cuban Missile Crisis and said the nation must rally around the president.
