Fired FBI Director Andrew McCabe's legal counsel responded to President Donald Trump's Twitter attack this weekend by saying Sunday they will not be responding to "each childish, defamatory, disgusting, and false tweet by the president."
The tweet was just the second on Michael R. Bromwich's account on Twitter, which had been opened in February 2009. Both tweets came in the past two days after McCabe's firing Friday just days before his planned retirement date — signaling a purpose to responding to President Trump's tweets, which they claim they would not be doing.
It should be noted Bromwich's account is not official marked "verified" by Twitter, but reports have corroborated its authenticity.
Bromwich's own Twitter attacks on the president sets up potential legal action to protect McCabe's ability to collect retirement benefits he might be otherwise denied having been fired for potential cause before his official retirement date.
President Trump kicked off the Twitter back-and-forth Saturday.
President Trump continued his assailing of FBI special counsel Robert Mueller, fired FBI Director James Comey and McCabe on Sunday, ripped the preponderance of Democrats on Mueller's team, Comey's potential perjury to the Senate Judiciary Committee and McCabe's "fake memo" claims.
