The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC poll contains three warning signs for President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans, according to the Journal's analysis.

Those results:

  • A plurality of 38 percent overall said their vote in November would be one of opposition to Trump.
  • Democrats have flipped two segments of white voters that supported the GOP in 2016.
  • Voters in swing districts have flipped in favor of a Democratic-controlled Congress by 24 points since 2014.

GOP pollster Bill McInturff, who helped conduct the survey, told the Journal those results a "flashing yellow light" for Republicans.

"From the Republican perspective, they are staring this year at lots of danger signs," McInturff told the Journal.

White independent voters surveyed who wanted to see a Republican-controlled Congress by plus-8 points in 2016 now are plus-7 points in favor of a Democratic-controlled Congress, according to the WSJ/NBC poll.

Further, white college educated voters in favor of a GOP-controlled Congress in 2016 are now plus-21 in favor of a Democratic-controlled Congress in 2018, the WSJ reports.

"This president will make it very, very hard," McInturff told the Journal.

The survey of 900 adults was conducted Jan. 13-17 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.27 percentage points.
