Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., thinks presidential hopeful Joe Biden has already been investigated for a sexual assault allegation.
"He has said, and I agree with this, you’ve got to get to the bottom of every case and all allegations. I think The New York Times — I haven’t read all the stories. I read that one," Klobuchar said on MSNBC.
Her comments suggest she was referring to a recent article in the Times detailing the sexual assault allegation made against Biden by his former aide Tara Reade.
Reade alleges she was assaulted by Biden in the basement of an office building on Capitol Hill in 1993. The Associated Press obtained a copy of a police report Reade filed in Washington, D.C. this Thursday stating she was sexually assaulted by an unnamed assailant in 1993.
"Your viewers should read that," Klobuchar said. "It was very thorough. They interviewed people. And I have done a lot of work on this. I actually led the effort to change the rules in the U.S. Senate so that it is easier to bring these cases forward and so that we have taxpayers not paying for bad conduct."
