America First Action PAC, which supports President Donald Trump, raised $4.8 million in the first three months of this year, The Washington Examiner reports.
The group ended last quarter with $1.9 million on hand, having raised $3.7 million. nonprofit advocacy branch, America First Policies, the two raised $13.6 million by April.
"President Trump is leading an American comeback, and our donors want to do their part to help keep the momentum going,” America First president Brian Walsh told the Examiner in a statement. “They have delivered, just as the President has delivered time and again on his promise to make America great again."
Last week, Trump had dinner hosed by GOP strategist and lobbyist Jeff Miller in Virginia, where he ate with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, supporters of America First Action, and several top donors.
"America First Action is extremely honored to host President Trump as our special guest, along with supporters and friends of our organization," Walsh told CNN the day before the dinner. "These events are not fundraisers for America First Action or any other entity. We ensure that our activities at all times remain in full compliance with the law and ethics rules. Out of respect for Mr. Trump and our other guests, we have no further comment."
