A former White House aide to President Donald Trump has started a political action group and launched a new digital ad campaign aimed at getting mothers to vote for Trump, Politico reports.
Moms for Safe Neighborhoods, founded by Heritage Action for America executive director Jessica Anderson, has spent $3 million for airtime on TV networks — including NBC, A&E, Bravo, Lifetime, Oxygen, E!, and Fox News — to play an ad spot that claims voting for Democrats will cause suburban communities to be overrun by anarchists.
“They’ll defund police. They’ll disarm you. Don’t let this nightmare come true,” a narrator says in the ad.
Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden has actually said he does not support defunding police and has instead issued a criminal justice reform plan that includes an additional $300 million for a program for Community Oriented Policing Services.
“Moms for Safe Neighborhoods came together because a group of concerned mothers saw Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats calling for diverting money from the police and failing to condemn the violence as it entered neighborhoods across the country,” said Anderson, who is a mother herself and worked as the associate director for intergovernmental affairs and strategic initiatives at the Office of Management and Budget in the Trump White House.
“They banded together to get their message out to moms everywhere, but also because they understand how critical suburban women are to President Trump’s reelection,” she added.
