In subzero temperatures, people have been coming in "at a pretty steady stream" to caucus in Iowa for the 2024 Republican nomination, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., told Newsmax on Monday.
Gaetz, currently in Iowa caucusing for former President Donald Trump, told "Eric Bolling The Balance" that "these folks are intended to participate in the process," and that the Iowa county he is currently in, Jasper County, voted for Democrat Barack Obama twice and then Trump twice.
Jasper County has "been negatively impacted by the more than 2,000 manufacturing jobs that Iowa has lost under Joe Biden's bad policies," Gaetz said.
"So I'm going to be telling the story here, that the story of Jasper, the story of Iowa converting from a blue state to a red state, is really the coalition that we're going to build for President Trump throughout these caucuses, throughout the primary season and then into the general election, where he has a commanding lead over Joe Biden," Gaetz continued.
