China is building a vast underwater sensor network dubbed the “Underwater Great Wall” that threatens to encircle and cut off Taiwan while reinforcing China’s vast, sharply disputed territorial claims in the East and South China Seas, informed sources tell Newsmax.
That network, already under construction by a state-owned firm with close ties to China’s military, is expected to be an updated version of the SOSUS system U.S. leaders used to track the movements of Soviet submarines during the Cold War.
