Virus Emerges as Serious Threat to GOP Senate Majority

Republicans, once confident their party would maintain control of the Senate in 2020, are increasingly worried the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the top of the ticket may be too much to overcome.

Senate races in Colorado, Maine, and New Hampshire were shifted by Inside Elections in favor of Democrats, Roll Call reported. The Senate contest in Colorado went from tossup to tilts Democrat, the Maine race involving Incumbent Sen. Susan Collins went from tilts Republican to tossup, and the New Hampshire race went from likely Democrat to solid Democrat.
