Growing Evidence Eyes 'Absorb' Virus-Laden Droplets

Thursday's report that NBC virologist Dr. Joseph Fair believes he contracted the coronavirus through his eyes echoes several recent studies indicating the human eye may indeed be susceptible as a "portal" for COVID-19 infection.

It’s been suspected from the outset that touching the eyes, as well as the nose and throat, could possibly lead to infection. But it’s increasingly evident the eyes can also absorb a viral-laden droplet through the air.
