There's little chance President Donald Trump's team will overturn the election results, according to former director of strategic communications for the president's campaign Marc Lotter on Newsmax TV.
"I think we have to be honest with ourselves, it's not just one state we have to flip," Lotter told host Grant Stinchfield on Monday's Stinchfield. "It's not just Arizona or Georgia. It's Arizona, Georgia, and either Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, or Michigan.
"It would basically be overcoming three Mount Everest-size hurdles in three different states."
Lotter said the main issue hurting the president's case is lack of physical evidence.
'We have a lot of allegations, there's a lot of speculation but what we haven't seen is the evidence that would allow this to be overturned in a court of law," Lotter said. "That's why today, obviously, you had the Electoral College formally certify the election to Joe Biden.
"This was a very close election. It's important to remember 43,000 votes is all that separated Joe Biden and President Trump, and 43,000 votes would have made President Trump re-elected if they were in the right states."
Although Republicans cast provisional electoral ballots today for the president in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, that was not the case in Michigan. The Capitol building in Lansing, Mich., was closed to the public amid reports Republican supporters might try to prevent electors from voting for Joe Biden.
"The state capitol is the people's house," Lotter said. "It's the house where the people's business is done, and when you lock people, out, you basically remove transparency whether it is the electors casting the ballots for the electoral college or doing the people's business in a legislative forum.
"It's the people's house and it shouldn't be locked down to just some and not the others. But that's what we've seen from Democrats time and time again. They're willing to change the rules, or make the rules that only apply as they want them to and they'll violate them if they don't like them."
