Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told
Newsmax TV Monday Donald Trump was wrong to "trash his opponents" the day after the Republican National Convention ended last week.
"I'm not going to vote for Hillary. That's for sure," DeLay told host Steve Malzberg. "I thought the convention was pretty good. I think he accomplished what he needed to accomplish.
"Unfortunately I think he stepped all over his convention when he went on the next day and just trashed his opponents and he continues to trash his opponents. I had some problems, I gotta tell you.
"Putting Peter Thiel on there and glorifying homosexuality and saying that we should do any of the social engineering or culture war stuff. To be honest with you, I thought Ivanka gave a Democrat speech. Where have we heard childcare being affordable and accessible? Another welfare program.

DeLay added that he's not about to leave his choice for president blank on his November ballot, but he's still "struggling with endorsing him. I'm struggling with trusting what Trump says and nothing in the convention convinced me otherwise."
Just days after he was crowned the Republican party's presidential nominee, Trump has fallen back on his
pre-convention habits of insulting Hillary Clinton and
other Democrats trying to stand in his way to the White House.
