DeLay: Get Rid of 'Useless' UN

DeLay: Get Rid of 'Useless' UN
(Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Now")

By    |   Monday, 18 September 2017 09:05 PM EDT

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told Newsmax TV the United Nations is "worthless" and a "United States basher" — and it needs to go away.

During an appearance on "Newsmax Now," DeLay told hosts Bill Tucker and Jonathan Gillam he is tired of the same old messages coming from the UN.

"I got to tell you, I'm one of those that think we ought to do away with the United Nations, not just reform them," said DeLay, the author of "Revival! Revolution! Rebirth!"

DeLay went on to say the U.N. seems to spend an awful lot of time talking badly about the U.S.

"I don't know of anything good that's come out of the United Nations. It was formed to be a United States basher, most of the countries there spent most of their time with their diplomats in the United Nations bashing the United States. It's worthless. It doesn't do anything," DeLay said.

"Yeah, maybe there is a reason to get together and talk, well you can call a meeting every now and then. You don't need this huge bureaucracy that does nothing. North Korea's going to talk Friday, what use is that going to be? So it's worthless and I hope someday some president will stand up and call it for what it is."
