Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, said he was "embarrassed" by how Democrats acted during President Donald Trump's speech in front of Congress on Tuesday night.
During an appearance on Newsmax TV's "The Joe Pags Show," Poe talked about Trump's address and how his colleagues from the other side of the aisle conducted themselves.
"They were just rude," Poe said. "They wanted to be rude on purpose. That was their statement. We will show him, we will be rude, we will not respect the office of the president and they didn't. It was, to me, as a member of Congress, I was embarrassed by the way that they acted, and the way they did not act."
Poe said it is as if Democrats are still upset Trump won the presidential election last November.

"They can't get over the fact that Hillary Clinton got beat, and that is why they are acting this way," he said. "They just frankly, as we say in Texas, they didn't have any manners last night. That's the deal, they can't get over the defeat."
Poe was also asked about criticism leveled at Trump that suggested he used the widow of a Navy SEAL killed in an anti-terrorism raid last month as a prop during his speech.
"It's the other side who find nothing positive about anything President Trump does," Poe said. "And so they have to criticize everything he does, they have to judge his motive, and they're cruel about doing that. But they're not going to stop. I don't think they're going to stop at all."
