The alliance between the Ted Cruz and John Kasich to prevent Donald Trump from winning the GOP presidential is a bit odd since the two don't share many views, Scottie Nell Hughes, chief political correspondent for USA Radio Networks, tells
Newsmax TV.
"Don't break out the s'mores yet," Hughes said Monday on "Newsmax Prime." "I don't think this is really the Republican Party singing kumbaya, or at least the membership or the people that have recently become engaged in it."
Many conservatives were left scratching their heads, she said, noting that Cruz championed himself on being against Common Core, Obamacare, amnesty, TPP and NAFTA, and has now partnered with Kasich, "who is as establishment as you can get and is pro all of those things."

The alliance reaffirms Trump's argument that while no rules may be being broken the system is "rigged" to keep politicians in office.
Cruz and Kasich both are mathematically eliminated from getting the nomination on the first convention ballot, but are angling to sway enough delegates to win on a subsequent ballot if Trump also can be kept from getting a majority of delegates.
Cruz claims he can unify the party, but hasn't shown it yet by his inability to win delegates in the South or other regions, Hughes said.
She said she will support Cruz if he is the nominee, but fears he might be disenfranchising Trump voters with his tactics of trying to sway Trump delegates.
