Comprehensive immigration reform won't happen until a Republican recaptures the White House, says syndicated columnist and CNN contributor Ruben Navarrette Jr.
"Ironically, the only way you're going to get immigration reform is with a Republican president," Navarrette said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.

"[President Ronald] Reagan signed the last one in '86, and it was [President George W.] Bush who pushed the immigration debate and started us on this conversation.
"If you want immigration reform — I always tell the folks on the left and they don't believe me — you've got to elect Republicans."
