Norquist: US Will Recover as Trump Unwinds Obama Orders

Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live"

Repeals of key executive orders made by former President Barack Obama will dramatically help the nation recover from a mountain of misguided legislation, Grover Norquist, founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform, told Newsmax TV.

"Fourteen times the House and the Senate and the president got together and repudiated, repealed executive orders that Obama put in all by his lonesome without Congress," Norquist told host Bill Tucker on Thursday's "America Talks Live."

"That's 14 laws that permanently repeal stupid, destructive, very expensive, billions of dollars' worth of regulatory stuff."

"Cable, networks, Internet, radio, television, all of that, 16 percent of the economy is now being deregulated rather than monopolized, and cartelized, and regulated as it was for 16 years in the past.

"The FDA is going to make it easier for people to get new drugs if they've got a terminal disease. They're going to make it easier for vapers to get vaping equipment if they want to quit smoking and vape instead. They're going to legalize that."

In addition, Norquist said, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which Obama stopped from permitting the development of new power plants, will again be able to.

"So, this is really moving forward," Norquist told Tucker.
