Delegates attending the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference Monday are "incredibly curious" regarding Donald Trump's position on Israel, one expert tells Newsmax TV.

Ralph Reed, the chairman and founder of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, tells J.D. Hayworth on Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Prime" the delegates he spoke to still want to know more about the leading Republican candidate for president.

"They're incredibly curious about Donald Trump. I think like most people they underestimated him in the primaries and should he be the Republican nominee, they don't want to underestimate him in the general," Reed says. "I mean, he could be president. They want to know where he is on these security issues and other issues relating to Israel's ability to survive and prosper as a Jewish state."

Reed notes that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Trump's two opponents in the Republican race, are still relevant despite Trump's big lead.

"I think most of them would say Trump's the likely nominee at this point but Cruz and Kasich shouldn't be counted out and they definitely want to hear from them and what their views are as well," Reed says.

Democrat Hillary Clinton also addressed the AIPAC on Monday and called out Trump's statement that he would remain "neutral" on Israel and the Palestinians.
