The late Billy Graham was an Apostle who reached more people than the original followers of Jesus Christ combined, legendary singer and television personality Pat Boone told Newsmax TV.
During an appearance on "Newsmax Now," Boone told host John Bachman that Graham — who passed away early Wednesday at age 99 — was welcomed into Heaven with open arms.
"He's not dead, he's more alive than he ever was," Boone said. "He's got a brand new body and I can tell you right now, the angels in Heaven are singing and welcoming him in ways that we cannot imagine. It's a day of rejoicing for Billy.
"Maybe a little sad for us because he's not in our midst right now, but he hasn't been active for quite some time and this day was coming, as he knew it. Now, he joins his wonderful wife Ruth."

Later, Boone spoke about what Graham's life of spreading the word of God truly meant.
"The word Apostle means one who carries the message. Peter, Paul, James, John, Andrew, all the others, they carried the message as far in the world as they could go," Boone said. "But Billy Graham is and was an Apostle, sent by God himself to send the message to as many as would hear him. More people heard him in his life than all the Apostles put together a thousand times over. So he is and was an Apostle in the purest, most literal sense."
