President Barack Obama's goal in his Super Bowl Sunday interview with Fox News host Bill O'Reilly was to fire up his Democratic base, says Noah Rothman, editor and columnist for the media watchdog Mediaite.com.
"There wasn't a whole lot in the way of new information . . . but there was also not a whole lot of new ground to be tilled here when it comes to issues like the IRS, like with Benghazi," Rothman told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"[On] those scandals, the White House really has their lines down and they're not going to be changing those, especially in an interview with Fox," Rothman said Tuesday.
"You got the impression, at least I did, that the president's main desire to get in and out of this interview was to really fire up the base with some anti-Fox attacks, and he performed that task rather admirably."
