O'Reilly: Liberal Media Buys Into 'Grievance Industry'

By    |   Monday, 07 April 2014 11:57 PM EDT

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly slammed the liberal media for giving too much credence to the "grievance industry" and "hustlers" who are part of "a new anti-authority movement."

The "O'Reilly Factor" host Monday explained the "grievance industry" complains the deck is stacked against certain groups including minorities, women, the poor, gays, atheists, and Muslims.

And the media gives them political credence and plenty of air time.

“We have a new anti-authority movement, and it has been created by the grievance industry, which President Obama and the Democratic Party have used very effectively to assume and maintain power,” he said.

Pointing to one incident over the weekend in which college students erupted in violence during a party in a California town, “It is much easier to decide to cause trouble when you do not respect people and property,” O’Reilly said.

Another example, he said, was that of Dartmouth students who sat in the school president’s office for two days, alleging, in a statement, they are “systematically oppressed students (affected by racism, classism, imperialism, nativism, sexism, heterosexism, cis-sexism, and ableism).”

“Of course, those nutty students are part of the grievance industry – everything the establishment does offends them,” O’Reilly said. “Expect to see more of this kind of madness in the future.”

O’Reilly said inequality in America should be dealt with by discussion and policy change.
“But crazy people and hustlers are now controlling the debate, and because of that, constructive, effective problem-solving will be hard to come by. The grievance industry is unleashed.”
