President Barack Obama’s handling of immigration has been "the worst disaster" of any administration in more than four decades and is turning into "immigration anarchy," Michael Cutler, a Democrat who is a former senior special agent with INS and DEA, said on Newsmax TV
's "America's Forum."
Cutler said Obama’s remarks in Dallas Wednesday night that he does not need to see the border crisis in person to effectively manage it echoes the sentiments of his former adviser, Rahm Emanuel, now Chicago mayor, who told the president to "never waste a crisis. It provides you with opportunities to do the things you could not otherwise."

"I guess it's the Chicago way," Cutler said, laying blame on both sides of the aisle but accusing the president of a "manufactured crisis."
The current failure to enforce immigration laws sends a message to the world that America’s borders are open, according to Cutler.
"We have the world convinced that if you come to America, violate our most fundamental laws that are designed to protect American lives and American jobs, we won't only let you get away with it, we want to reward you for it," he said. "The president is making that abundantly clear."
Political asylum is not the answer, according to Cutler, who noted that the Boston Marathon bombers were granted asylum before returning to Russia to plot their crime.
"There is no integrity to political asylum," he said. "The Tsarnaev brothers, the whole family, got asylum and they immediately went back to Russia. The country from which they had a credible fear about returning for fear of persecution or worse. They obviously committed fraud. Did anybody ever connect those dots? No."
