McCain to Newsmax: I See Problems If Court Tosses Campaign Limits

The Supreme Court's ultimate decision on the case of Shaun McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission could mark as important a campaign finance decision as the landmark 2010 "Citizens United" ruling eliminating the ban on corporate spending in elections, Sen. John McCain said, adding the decision set off "an explosion of money [for] which there is no accountability."

"They have shredded the previous campaign finance laws," the Arizona Republican told Newsmax, "and I'm confident there will be major scandals because there's just too much money washing around the political system and I believe that the decision they made on Citizens for United may be a precursor for this."
