Matthew Whitaker, former acting United States attorney general, told Newsmax that support for the terrorist group Hamas is really just support for the Mullahs in Iran.
Appearing Monday on "Greg Kelly Reports," Whitaker suggested that more people need to call out Democrat lawmakers, like Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, who appear sympathetic to Hamas.
"The people that are rallying in support of Hamas are rallying in support of Iran, who is really, quite frankly, our enemy," Whitaker explained. "We need to start to call this out, understand that Iran is the whole reason for all the conflict, really in much of the Middle East.
"This is something that, when you support these types of radical groups, you need to own the whole thing. You can't sort of suggest that, somehow, you're only for a Free Palestine."
Omar and Tlaib are under fire from even some in their own party for posts on X that blamed Israel for an explosion at the Anglican Diocese of Jerusalem's al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City.
The posts, which are still up, come despite preliminary United States intelligence suggesting the explosion was caused by a rocket malfunction by the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, a terrorist group allied to Hamas.
"The bottom line is that Hamas, Hezbollah, and all of the radical extremists don't want peace," Whitaker emphasized. "They don't want Israel to exist. They want to wipe it off the face of the map, and ... they want to wipe the United States off the face of the map, too."
