Rep. Debbie Lesko, R-Ariz., told Newsmax TV on Friday she agreed with President Donald Trump that House Democrats should speed up the impeachment process to move to a Senate trial, "where there's actually going to be some fairness."
"Over here in the House, this process has been rigged against the president and against Republicans from the start," the first-term Lesko, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, told "Newsmax Now" host John Bachman.
The committee, chaired by Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., held its first hearing on Wednesday and will hold another session Monday.
"On Wednesday," Lesko said, "we got the list of witnesses, less than 48 hours before the hearing.
"We didn't know who was testifying before that."
Judiciary panel members also received the House Intelligence Committee's report from Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., "less than 24 hours before Wednesday's impeachment hearing," Lesko said.
"Nobody had time to read through that," she told Bachman, reiterating, "this whole thing is rigged."
