Ralph Peters: Obama Would Love to Leave an ISIS Mess for Hillary

Monday, 13 Oct 2014 05:21 PM

Does President Barack Obama want to present Hillary Clinton with a messy, unfinished war against the Islamic State (ISIS) should the former secretary of State capture the White House in 2016?

In fact, he would love to, retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters believes.

"There's a political campaign to first get Obama and his party through the November election to show they're doing something about terrorism," Peters said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"But the longer term view of the administration is to do exactly what Bill Clinton did in the late 1990s with al-Qaida. Just do absolutely the minimum you can and then dump it on the next president's lap.

"I'm sure Obama would love to dump this on Hillary's lap, or of course Republicans' laps. But he'd really like to dump it on Hillary."
Peters — author of "Hell or Richmond," published by Forge — said the Obama administration's military initiative against the Islamic extremist group has been a failure.

"These love-tap, phony airstrikes are just outrageous. I mean there's no air campaign," he said.

"Obama doesn't want to hurt anyone, including terrorists. I'm serious, he does not want a body count. He is very much a pacifist."
