State Rep. Beau LaFave, R-Mich., appearing on Newsmax TV, says observers were thrown out of Michigan election sites.
LaFave made his remarks on Newsmax TV’s “Chris Salcedo Show” on Wednesday.
“Certainly, with the trouble we have is people have been throwing out Republican poll challengers – poll watchers,” he said. “What we do in America here is the Republicans and the Democrats watch the poll workers to make sure nothing crazy is going on.
“And it's concerning to me that we aren’t able to get the poll watchers or challengers allegedly in some of these areas where thousands and thousands of votes came in. So, it is concerning. We need to be able to watch and make sure it's a free and fair election and I think if it is, Republicans will do very well “
Salcedo pointed out that in Michigan and Wisconsin President Donald Trump once had sizable leads, but they all but disappeared in one night.
“I do know that in my house district the president got 64% of the vote,” LaFave said. “Before the (absentee ballots) were counted he was at 70%.
“So, from my own race up in Michigan's upper peninsula- the vast majority of these absentee votes went for Democrats,” he said. “It seems to me that the Republicans want to make sure that they got to circle their ballots, put it in a machine, make sure was counted. A lot of Democrats are terrified of COVID and so they decided to vote from home just like Joe Biden is campaigning from his basement- but that's totally fine. it's allowed in Michigan.”
