North Korean leader Kim Jong Un might be "trying to play" President Donald Trump, but he will realize that is a "huge mistake" when the two meet as expected in a historic summit, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told Newsmax TV on Monday.
In an interview on "The Joe Walsh Show," the former congressman from Texas said the expected meeting comes as no surprise to him.
"This president . . . is so different than [former Presidents Barack] Obama, both [H.W. and George Bush] and [Bill] Clinton," he said. "He set this up beautifully, he worked the world media over it and took a hard stand and look where we are."

DeLay said he believe Trump has "got Kim set up for some really good results out of these talks."
"I think Kim Jong Un may be trying to play him, bit if he is, it's a huge mistake," DeLay said.
"And once they get in that room he's gonna realize it's a mistake. I think Kims' gonna play to keep his regime and his power," DeLay said, adding: "And President Trump knows that."
DeLay also said he believes the president is "doing great" in his first 15 months in the White House.
"He's amazing, the things that he's been able to do," DeLay said.
"I'm excited he's taken on the media," he added, and remarked: "When he needs the Congress, he works with them. I wish they'd work with him harder."
