'Fox & Friends' Host Kilmeade: Obamacare Will Divide Democrats

By    |   Friday, 15 November 2013 04:47 PM EST

The troubled Affordable Care Act will eventually split the Democratic Party in half, with Bill and Hillary Clinton a major part of the divide, according to Brian Kilmeade, co-host of TV's "Fox & Friends."

"We saw the beginning of the divorce from Obamacare on Tuesday when, in that nondescript website, former President [Bill] Clinton made it clear that President Obama's got to make this right and go do something for those people who lost their insurance," Kilmeade told Joe Concha, guest host of "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Story continues below video.

"He was speaking for his wife [Hillary] just a little bit, but they'll have very little problem separating themselves from President Obama, and I just wonder when it starts, when it begins to start. That will be fascinating because that will divide the party in half."

Kilmeade believes Obama will have a tough time governing for the remainder of his second term in the wake of the healthcare debacle.

"His way of solving that problem was not accepted — not accepted by [the] insurance business, not accepted by the Democrats, not accepted by Republicans. So his way of solving his problem, which talking his way out of it, failed, really, for the first time, arguably, in his adult life," Kilmeade said.

"So I have a problem seeing him accomplishing anything else … I don't see him getting out from under it. I see some parallels with George Bush and the Iraq War."

Kilmeade's new book, written with Don Yaeger — "George Washington's Secret Six: The Spy Ring That Saved the American Revolution" — tells the fascinating, little-known story of how ordinary New Yorkers became spies to help Washington fight the British, sneaking messages between Long Island and Manhattan.

"You have … 55 miles from Setauket to Manhattan. [They would] pick up a note, 55 miles back, and then they would give it to a longshoreman, and with six other guys they would row 26 miles across the Long Island Sound," Kilmeade said.

"In their sock, in their body somewhere hidden, was a note that Washington had to have … written in invisible ink."
