Donald Trump is "on the same path" as House leaders proposing a tax reform blueprint to "leapfrog" America back into the lead of world economic competitiveness and "bust up" the IRS, Rep. Kevin Brady tells
Newsmax TV.
In an interview with Newsmax's chief political correspondent John Gizzi aired Tuesday night on "Newsmax Prime," the new chairman of the House Way and Means Committee touted the blueprint as part of House Speaker Paul Ryan's
"Better Way" agenda.
"What we've proposed is a tax bill built for growth… for wages… for America's economy," the Texas lawmaker tells Gizzi, with an aim to "leapfrog America from dead-last into the lead pack" in the world economy.
"We go all in for growth for jobs," he adds, by lowering tax rates for business "to the lowest in modern history," and by simplifying the tax code for American families.

And Brady said there have been "extensive discussions with Mr. Trump's tax team" on the plan — and they're on board.
"We're on the same path in a major way on this tax reform," he declared.
According to Brady, even Democrats — privately at least — "know that America is no longer competitive" and that taxpayers "can't keep up with this complex code."
"Over time, we will bold support, or attract support," he adds, including for sunsetting the tax code, which, "should be a bipartisan bill — who can defend what we have today?" he asks.
Brady also declared the tax reform blueprint calls for an overhaul of the IRS too.
"We need a change in leadership – no question about it," he said. "We've chased three commissioners or acting commissioners out of that position and yet the IRS continues to behave as it behaves."
According to Brady, his tax reform blueprint proposes "busting up the IRS" into a "business unit" and a "family unit focused on customer service" that will help resolve "minor tax disputes."
"We're proposing a small claims court independent of [the Treasury Department] … to help families and small business settle those tax disputes. … We're going very bold on what America's tax collector looks like and how it behaves."
The reform blueprint is already getting accolades, with
Forbes magazine praising Brady for managing "to achieve the impossible as head of Ryan's House task force on tax reform."
And the conservative Tax Foundation
released a report praising the plan, saying the economic boost to the economy would cover a large majority of the plan's cost.
