Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, tells
Newsmax TV he and other GOP members of Congress at the time attempted to give input to Hillary Clinton's health care proposal.
In an interview recorded Sunday for "Newsmax Prime," Kasich told host J.D. Hayworth he invited Clinton, who was then first lady, to his home, where he and other Republicans told her their ideas for solutions to the health care crisis
"She didn't pay much attention," Kasich said. "But I do remember what Robert Reischauer, the former head of the Congressional Budget Office, had the courage to stand up and say: that we couldn't afford it, it wouldn’t' work, and I think that's what put it to bed."

As for Clinton's current issues with an investigation into her email use as Secretary of State, Kasich said, "We've got to let the justice system play out. I'm flabbergasted that anybody would do anything like that. I don't know what was behind it, and this needs to be fully examined by all the legal authorities."
