Rep. Jody Hice to Newsmax TV: Ga. Sec. of State to Blame for Chaos

By    |   Monday, 16 November 2020 07:26 PM EST

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is to blame for the chaos in the Georgia election, according to Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., on Newsmax TV.

"The statistics speak for themselves," Hice told Monday's "Spicer & Co." "We've had 10 times more absentee ballots but 10 times fewer of those ballots cast out because of improper signature verification.

"There is chaos in this Georgia election system because of secretary of state in Georgia Brad Raffensperger. He has brought this upon himself, he has brought it upon Georgia, and the people of Georgia are irate as to how this thing has gone down and rightfully so."

Raffensperger, a Republican who has gone head to head with President Donald Trump over the election results in Georgia, on Sunday posted several fact checks on his official Facebook page correcting misinformation about the election promoted by Trump and his campaign.

"The state of Georgia strengthened signature match this year," Raffensperger wrote in one post, saying election officials received signature-match training requiring a confirmed match be made twice before a ballot is cast.

He also said Republican leaders such as Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., have been putting pressure on him to exclude legal ballots.

Hice said the entire outcome "smells like a rat, and when you smell a rat, it's typically because there is a rat.

"When you have not a single Republican incumbent lose nationwide, when you have Republicans do extremely well in the state of Georgia, on the state level as well as the federal level; you have the Senate across the country holding – all of which we were told would not happen," he concluded. "And then you have President Trump getting 9 million more votes in this election then he did 4 years ago.

"And you tell me somehow, he didn't win? I believe he won this."
