Jeb: Obama Governs US Like Latin American Country, by Decree

By    |   Tuesday, 19 January 2016 11:30 PM EST

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush told Newsmax TV on Tuesday that "Barack Obama is not a Latin American president that can do things by decree" when it comes to issuing various executive actions.

"He has to work with Congress — and he stopped doing that a long time ago," the former Florida governor told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth.

Bush said he believed that the Supreme Court will overturn Obama's executive actions on illegal immigration that have been challenged by Texas and 24 other states.

"I don't believe the president has the authority," he told Hayworth. "I think the Supreme Court will overrule him.

"If the president believes there should be some treatment for Dream Act kids that's different from their parents or other illegal immigrants, the he needs to go to Congress. That's our democracy. He can't do this by executive order.

"This is one of many examples of the president — the gun issue is the most recent example — where he has gone way beyond the delegated authority the Congress has granted him or the way beyond the powers of Article II that that Constitution has granted him," Bush said.

"The result is that people believe that Washington is not working for all people, just only those who have access to power.

"We need a more humble president who respects the Constitution, who appoints an attorney general who won't trample over the Constitution either — and works with Congress."\
