Israel will continue its aggressive attacks against Hamas until the Palestinian group stops launching rockets against the Jewish state, says Steven Bucci, former Army Special Forces officer and former military assistant to former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
"If Hamas starts to back off, if there are no more rockets coming, Netanyahu is going to have to wrap this up quickly and get out or his people will say, 'Hey, look they stopped, we need to stop,'" Bucci said on
Newsmax TV's "America's Forum" Tuesday.

"Israel is not interested in reclaiming Gaza," the director at the Douglas and Sarah Allison Center for Foreign and National Security Policy at the Heritage Foundation said.
"It's not interested in fighting a day longer than it needs to – any of the people in Israel," he added.
However, Bucci said that Israel will continue to fight "as long as Hamas continues to be aggressive, continues to assault Israel."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would like to end the fighting "within a week. It may go to 10 days," the former Defense official says.
"I don't think it'll last for two weeks," he added. "He doesn't want to be in there that long, and his people don't want him in there that long."
