Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Penn., told Newsmax TV on Wednesday that World Health Organization Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus must resign over his conduct during the coronavirus outbreak.
Reschenthaler on Tuesday introduced a House resolution calling for Congress to withhold funding from the WHO, unless Tedros resigns, accusing him of “playing politics rather than focusing on its mission to coordinate global efforts on public health crises like the one we are currently experiencing,” according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
“Dr. Tedros was either grossly negligent in his handling of this pandemic, or he was working hand-in-glove with the CCP, the Chinese Communist Party,” Reschenthaler told “Newsmax Now” on Wednesday. “And here's why: Taiwan had warned the world in the World Health Organization in December that corona was passed person-to-person. The Chinese continued to deny that, and they lied about stats, they hid their stats, and… Dr. Tedros went out said that the Chinese Communist Party should be commended for their transparency, and they handled this correctly.”
The congressman said, “Additionally, it was the World Health Organization parroting the Chinese position that President Trump should not have shut down travel from China. In retrospect, had China stopped travel from Wuhan it wouldn’t have spread this virus.”
